Hitchin Vespa Club

Founded in 1954.  If anyone has any knowledge about this club then we would like to hear from you. This was Vespa Club number 105, formed shortly after Hemel Hempstead no. 104. Obviously still going in 1966, given the extract from Vespa News below. 'Jet ' Whittle shown below was a founder member. He later became  a prominent member of VCB representing Great Britain at a number of EuroVespa events. In the 50's & 60's it was an honour to be chosen to represent the UK, not all members were allowed to attend only those who were chosen. 'Jet' Whittle was also VCB Council Member for the Eastern Region in the early 60's, succeeded by Mike Kemp who took over this role in the mid 60's. Mike was also a prominent member of the VCB establishing an enviable record of wins at Gymkhana events  on his SS 90.
